What can I say about my love of Wedding Photography?
How about, after taking a year off, after taking no new bookings for 3 years, I STILL cried like a bitch at my first wedding of 2019 when the Bride and her Dad did a Father-Daughter dance. At the wedding of a couple I had never met. At the wedding of a couple who weren’t even my client (I was second shooting for someone else!). After 10 years of photographing weddings, they STILL have that effect on me.
And that moment is when I realised I was a complete idiot to try and give up wedding photography.
My personal health issues (Fibromyalgia and Chronic Migraine, soon to be a blog post of their own!) mean that I can only take on two weddings per month maximum, and that I spend the first 3 days after a wedding lying on the sofa all burrito’d up full of meds and a netflix binge, but I love it so much I just can’t NOT do it. I love shooting portraits but theres just something about weddings that speak to my soul. I’m all about the romance, the emotion, the details, the fairy-tale-ness of it all and I don’t think I will ever give it up again.
