Portrait Session Information
Everything you need to know about the process, from booking to photoshoot and beyond!
First of all, if you haven’t met me, Hi! I’m Donna and I’m the photographer behind ClickClickBang Photography. I’m a 45 year old married Mum of two with a mile-a-minute mouth, lots and lots of tattoos and a very loud laugh, and I’ve been a photographer for over 10 years. I am also a chronic illness warrior (I have fibromyalgia, hypermobile Elhers Danlos syndrome and chronic migraine but they are all relatively well managed!) and I recently was diagnosed with ADHD which isn’t much of a surprise to people who know me! I’m officially disabled, having been finally awarded PIP in 2023 and am a proud legal prescription cannabis patient!
Back in November 2021 I did a very rare self portrait session, that (as usual) I was completely dreading. Having struggled with my weight and with an eating disorder for most of my adult life, self portraits are a hugely anxious and draining thing to do and I therefore very rarely do it. But something amazing happened. I LOVED MY PHOTOGRAPHS. I was so happy with them I cried, and immediately I was struck by the thought “This is how my clients feel!!” Everything I have gone through in my life made me the person I am today, the woman in front of that camera looking like a QUEEN.
That thought had a magical effect on me as both a person and as a photographer. My confidence increased ten-fold, and I became obsessed with the thought of making more and more people feeling the way I felt when I saw my own portraits. The image of me here is from that shoot and I still adore it! I even decided to take on a self portrait project for 2022 and take more photographs of myself, for me, for my husband and kids, for my clients and its been a transformative experience for sure.
I don’t completely enjoy the process of shooting and editing my self portraits, not going to lie! But I’m so proud of the images I’ve created and the incredible effect its had on my self esteem and confidence. I’m amazed at how much my project has affected me in such a positive way. And I truly believe that I am a better photographer for knowing personally how a beautiful image of yourself can alter your perception of your body. If I can do it for me, I can DEFINITELY do it for you!!

Step one: Scheduling your session
If you’ve decided to take the plunge, once we’ve found a date in the diary, I will send you your invoice for the session fee of £200
The session fee includes:
Pre-shoot consultation and styling session
Full hair and makeup by my talented makeup artist
Fully guided photoshoot
High-end retouching and editing
Reveal session, where you see your images for the first time
1 8x10” mounted print of your choice with accompanying digital file
Once your invoice is settled I will send you my style and beauty guides which cover everything you might need to consider for your photoshoot, and we can get to planning!
So how does it all work?
A quick run through of my entire process from beginning to end!
Step two: Your styling constultation
A couple of weeks before your session date you come and visit the studio for your styling consultation!
This takes a lot of the worry about what to wear and what to bring, as I will go through your possible choices and advise what works best.
You will also have the opportunity to go through my client wardrobe, which features everything from gowns to lingerie and accessories, to find the pieces that speak to you and fit you like a glove!
The main reason I do a styling session is because I always hear the same two things from my portrait subjects; 1: I have nothing to wear! and 2: I’m very nervous about being photographed!
Having a styling consultation before your shoot takes the stress out of what you are going to wear, and you will arrive on the day knowing exactly what we are going to shoot which removes so much pressure from your shoulders. And as for the second point, nerves about being in front of the camera are absolutely normal, and I’ll let you in on a little secret; I’m ALWAYS nervous before a shoot! If its ok for me to have nerves, its definitely ok for you! But I promise, once we start shooting you’ll quickly realise that I will literally pose you from top to toe, and you’ll suddenly find yourself enjoying it!
Step three: The session itself
You’ll arrive ready to have your hair and makeup applied at 11am (although this is negotiable!) and we are usually finished by 2pm.
I will guide you through your entire session, through your different outfits and setups, and we will capture some amazing images together I guarantee it!
You’ll leave feeling energized, confident and gorgeous!
I always see a LOT of post-shoot selfies from my clients on my social media because everyone leaves feeling incredible and in love with their makeup and, most importantly, themselves!
Step four: The reveal session
At your shoot we will schedule your reveal session. This is where you come back to the studio, usually 2 weeks after your shoot, to see your images for the very first time!
Once you have viewed and marvelled (and maybe even shed a tear or two) at your images, its then completely up to you what happens next, or how much you spend.
There is never any obligation to purchase more, and some of my biggest cheerleaders are the people who walked away with their complimentary print so all I concentrate on is making beautiful photographs for you, there is no hard sell, that is not my vibe at all!
But if you do decide to purchase more images, extra 8x10” mounted prints start at £95, Folio reveal box collections start at £700 and all my products are hand-made by professional craftsmen in a castle in Italy.
I know I have a luxury price-tag so I am completely open and honest about my prices (you can see my full pricelist below) but I also offer pre and post payment plans on my collections and wall art to help you spread the cost should you choose to, more info on that below.
I want to make this as easy as possible for people to afford the ego boost a professional portrait session can give.

Pre and Post payment plans
Payment for your collection is usually taken in full at your viewing session, but you do have the option to spread the payments over time to help with the cost.
With a pre-payment plan, you pay for your chosen collection in installments over a maximum of 12 months PRIOR to your shoot date. This means, instead of waiting months after your shoot to get your images and prints in your hand with a post-payment plan, you can get your chosen digital images immediately after your viewing session and your printed products within a couple of weeks. This option is ideal if you are booking your shoot several months in advance.
The big advantage to a pre-payment plan is all collections pre-purchased have 10% off!
I do offer post payment plans too, but you would not receive your digitals and print credit until the balance is settled. I would always recommend a pre-payment plan over a post-payment plan as I find the excitement can often wane months after your shoot and I want it to remain an exciting experience from beginning to end. I also want people to have their digital and print products quickly, at the end of the day thats why you come to me, and I hate having to make people wait!
You are also welcome to apply for PayPal Credit, you get 4 months at 0% interest, I get paid in full immediately and you get your digitals and products quickly! This is something that has to be applied for prior to your viewing session. I can’t do it for you unfortunately so please read PayPal’s info, terms and conditions if this is an option for you.
I want to make it as easy and as cost-effective for you as possible so I try and be as flexible as I can, we can discuss this in more detail if needed.

Because you deserve to see yourself as your loved ones see you!
I understand this on a deep level as my self portraits have changed me in a way I never really appreciated before,
and its my mission to make as many of you feel that way as possible.
